This is the website of the Tom Levitt, formerly an editor of the Ecologist magazine and the Guardian’s sustainable business section. I am now a freelance journalist for the Guardian and farming press, and a researcher for the RSA’s Food, Farming and Countryside Commission.
I have an MSc in Food Policy (with distinction) from City University and have been awarded a Nuffield Farming Scholarship for 2017 to research dairy promotion and consumption around the world.
I am on the advisory board for Foodsource, an initiative run by the Food Climate Research Network (FCRN) at Oxford University’s Environmental Change Institute.
I have produced programmes for Farm Radio, been a regular chair for Guardian and public events, including the Edinburgh Science Festival and Oxford Real Farming Conference and a guest on BBC Radio and BBC World Service. I am also a guest lecturer for the Centre for Alternative Technology.
